Dear Teenage Self,
There's going to come a time later on when you will realize that the people who are supposed to care about you the most will hurt you the worst. Don't let this get you down. Stack your money and get the hell out this town while you're still young. College is not important, but the experience will be amazing if you play it right. Focus on finishing school, but don't let that degree limit your potential. Don't let other people discourage you from doing what you want to do. You're the one who has to live with the consequences, not them. Stop caring about what other people think of you. Love and adult relationships are overrated. Someone who claims to love you more than anything will still love themselves more. They won't care about how it makes you feel. They will always do them and it will never change. Love yourself and always put yourself first. Refuse to let people take advantage of you. Refuse to remain quiet and call people out when they have wronged you. You may not understand now, but believe me, if you start building that backbone now, things will be a whole lot different down the road.
PS. Don't date the locals!
