If you've read my past blog posts, then you already know how determined I am to put my 9-5 lifestyle to rest and run my brand, Shaunte'a Chanel LLC, full time. Building my brand has consisted of creating multiple blogs, starting my YouTube channel, and trying out some network marketing opportunities here and there. I swear I've been trying at this for years now and I just can't seem to get the formula right. I've read eBooks, completed online courses, and spent much more time and money than I care to admit.
At the beginning of this year, I knew I had to do something to change my current situation. I decided that I was going to have to take a step back to figure out what I really wanted to do. I want to blog, but what do I want to blog about? What do I have to offer my readers? I want to make YouTube content, but what do I want to share? How do I get people to watch? Am I even that interesting of a person for people to want to watch?
Toward the end of January, I came up with the idea of putting the blog and YouTube to the side. Sounds crazy since I hadn't created content for either one in months, but I wasn't going to continue to stress over making content. I came to the realization that the income for both of these opportunities was not going to come as fast as I needed it to. With YouTube excluding smaller content creator from the partnership program and the monetizing struggles that come with blogging, I went with opening an online boutique.
During the creation of this online boutique, I took quite a bit of time deciding what I wanted to sell and how I wanted to sell it. I don't exactly have the space to house massive amounts of inventory seeing as how I live with family. I originally wanted to sell jewelry since I had found a wholesaler of good quality jewelry and accessories. But let's be honest, jewelry would be a bitch to keep up with. Especially since I'm running a one-woman show. Then for some reason, sunglasses just stood out to me. I mean, think about it. Sunglasses are one of those accessories that you don't think you need until you need them. And the best thing about sunglasses: ONE SIZE FITS ALL! I was sold.
On Sunday, February 18, 2018, Bossin Bella was officially launched. I made my first sale later that week. I finally found something that I felt had some potential to work for me. That first sale turned into two more sales. This was it. I was doing it. I was actually selling something... and it felt fucking amazing!
So, what's Bossin Bella all about? First of all, Bossin Bella is an online retailer specializing in fashion sunglasses and eyewear accessories. We're based in Ardmore, Oklahoma and we currently only ship within the United States. We originally started out as a women's only boutique but found out quickly that some of our styles could pass for both men and women. We offer a variety of styles with something for everyone. In addition to sunglasses, in the near future, we will also offer eyewear accessories such as cases, storage, lanyards, and cleaning and repair kits.
With the birth of Bossin Bella, it doesn't necessarily mean that I've given up on my blog and YouTube channel. (Obviously not the blog because you're reading this.) I just need to focus on one area at a time, build it to where I need it to be, then incorporate the other platforms. So for now, Bossin Bella will be my main focus but I will be giving behind-the-scenes exclusives here on the blog.
